Up and Coming Colour Events

This week I have come across several up and coming colour-related events so I thought I would do a post about some dates to put in the diary. On the 30th November Dimitris Mylonas will be giving a talk at City University entitled ‘Colour Naming for Colour Communication’. The talk will be at 11.30 and is part a one-day day symposium of talks about colour to celebrate the launch of a new book edited by Colour Group member Janet Best, called Colour Design Theories and Applications. It features chapters written by a number of Colour Group members and colour researchers. For full details of the programme, venue and tickets visit the Colour Group website, where booking will be available from mid-October and early bird tickets until Friday 16th November.

Another meeting hosted by the Colour Group, at very short notice, is tomorrow at 2pm. Also at City University it is a presention of colour research by students at Leeds University. The afternoon includes an introduction by Mike Pointer, followed by four talks by students, finishing at 5pm. Full details can be found here.

Also this week is the launch of Colour Futures 2013 by AkzoNobel (owners of Dulux). A presentation on future colour trends will be given by Per Nimer in conjunction with the launch. The talk takes place at One Great George Street, in central London between 9.15 and 10.30. Visit their website for full details and to register for the seminar.

Finally, starting on 17th November at the V&A is a display called Chromazone about colour in contemporary architecture. It’s free to view and is on until the 13th May next year.

I’d like to discuss synergies between your interest in colour and an exhibition we’re launching in September.
